Mike was very kind to my late husband John and me when we bought our first house.  He was great at DIY and helped us a great deal with both advice and hands on.  Mike and John discovered some horrendous dry rot in the house walls when they were putting in a new window.  Nightmare stuff that had to be treated professionally.  They had to support the wall above the window opening and try to re-install the window - without Mike there could have been disaster.  He was always ready to give a helping hand which was appreciated so much.
